The 18th Edition of MEDIBAT (Sfax, May 21-24, 2025):
Tunisia’s First Major Building Event: A Strong Comeback with an International Outreach
The 18 th edition of MEDIBAT, the Mediterranean Building Exhibition, Tunisia’s leading event for the building sector and construction industry, is set to take place from May 21 to 24, 2025, in Sfax. With heightened ambitions, this edition aims to increase its international impact, building on past years; triumphs and consolidating its position as a significant industry platform. Organized by the Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIS), this biennial event will host a robust international presence, including delegations and professionals from various countries, alongside experts in construction, technology, and related services.
Several countries have officially confirmed their participation, with delegations and fully equipped pavilions scheduled to attend. These include China, France, Libya, Algeria, Italy, Turkey, and Poland.
A key highlight of the expanded international participation will be the Tunisian-Algerian- Libyan Business Forum. Preparations for this tri-national forum are progressing smoothly, offering a platform for stakeholders in the construction industry — from both public and private sectors — to explore collaboration opportunities. The forum will address the challenges faced by professionals, businesses, and key players involved in significant land and real estate investment projects across the region.
In addition to the notable Maghreb participation, several esteemed international institutions will be present at the event. These include ASCAME (Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry, representing over 300 chambers of commerce), CPCCAF (the Permanent Conference of African and French-speaking Chambers of Commerce, a supportive network dedicated to economic and institutional cooperation for African and Francophone private sectors), AFRICA Link (a business community network with more than 165 members across Africa and Europe), as well as key economic organizations such as COMESA (the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) and ZLECAF (the African Continental Free Trade Area).
Beyond its expanded international outreach, the 18 th edition of MEDIBAT sets ambitious goals, aiming to replicate the record-breaking achievements of previous editions. The event is set to surpass the milestone of 300 exhibitors, draw 30,000 visitors, facilitate 500 business meetings leading to partnerships and actionable projects, and welcome participants from 30 countries.
In addition to the exhibition, where a wide range of construction-related products and services will be displayed, the event will feature a diverse array of parallel activities and events. These include the renowned Scientific Forum, the Economic Forum, B2B Meetings, and the Entrepreneurship Forum, among others.
The organizing committee for MEDIBAT’s 18 th edition is working relentlessly to guarantee the success of this landmark event, which is set to be the Chamber of Commerce’s and the region’s most prominent economic forum. Furthermore, the event is designed to contribute significantly to Tunisia’s broader economic recovery, a key priority at this critical time.
